Intelligence
Usability House
Diligence on a medtech deal means knowing whether the category is worth entering, which company to own, and whether clinicians will adopt. We hold standing relationships with hundreds of clinicians, hospital buyers, and health system leaders across specialties, people who evaluate new technology and tell us what they see. They will tell you whether a category is worth entering, whether this company can win it, and where to go once you own it.

Growth
Lumen Health Group
Growth in a hold means new accounts, new systems, and new markets, and a sales force that takes years to build. Ours is already built: a bench of senior field people across therapeutic areas, each with a decade or more selling into hospitals and the relationships to show for it. They open the next market while the portfolio company hires behind them. Variable cost, no ramp, and results the investment thesis can count.

Training
The Academy
A portfolio company's commercial team is its growth engine, and most of it was built to sell to a surgeon. The sale is now won in a value analysis committee, on a packet marketing wrote and a rep had to defend. The Academy puts both in the room with the chief medical officers, nursing executives, and supply chain leaders who approve the purchase, and they teach what has to be true for a yes. Marketing leaves knowing what the packet needs. Sales leaves knowing how to use it. It is not a replacement for the company's own training; it is the part that training does not cover.
The Partnership
Every one of us came up inside the industry we now build for — in contract research, on the floor at Stryker and Medtronic, in the operating room.
